IACS, established in 1876, is India's oldest scientific research institution and has been at the forefront of fundamental research in basic sciences. It gained worldwide recognition when Professor C.V. Raman conducted his ground breaking work here, leading to the discovery of the Raman Effect and his subsequent Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930.
SINP evolved from the University of Calcutta's Palit Research Laboratory in Physics. Following Professor M.N. Saha's appointment to the Palit Chair of Physics (previously held by Professor C.V. Raman), the Institute was established in 1949. The facility was formally inaugurated by Madame Irene Joliot-Curie in January 1950. Since then, SINP has developed into a premier center with various divisions, including Nuclear Physics and Biophysics.
ATW traditionally brings together basic research scientists, clinicians, and healthcare professionals to discuss advancements in Ataxia-Telangiectasia (AT) research and treatments. The meeting will cover molecular and cellular studies of ATM, ATM-interacting networks in DNA damage-related pathways, and clinical aspects of the disease. Given your rich experience and significant contributions in DNA repair, neurodegenerative disorders, and cancer, we are honored to invite you to deliver an invited lecture on a topic of your choice relevant to the workshop.
